Hyped Critic

My siblings and I grew up in our own world, quite literally. We were important figures in a whole new universe, Mars, with its own agenda, rules...we came up with the concept of reality TV far before ever reading George Orwell's 1984. One of our most used terms was 'hyped critic', which was our means of calling out hypocritical actions or statements that the other made.

I'm afraid I've been just that; a hyped critic. Penning my thoughts on the world wide web and scapegoating those I know nothing about. Not to mention not following the advice I dole out, or the wise realisations I claim to have reached. That's not to say everything I say, I don't adhere to...but at times, I guess, I lose my footing on my foundational values and stray into the way of the world. This is me calling myself out.

You see, feminism is defined as the advocacy or championing of women's rights on the basis of establishing equality between the sexes. That means standing beside fellow females as one, and not breaking them down. I wrote about the need for women to see the benefits of negativity in strengthening one's character, but that's when one makes an informed, objective critique. I, on the other hand, know nothing about the figures I've been trashing on here. I say trashing because that, in all honesty, is what I've been doing. That's not to say I don't hold those same views about their conduct, but I can see that spreading negativity about a fellow woman on the rise adds no value to my readership. In fact, it depletes your intellect by engaging you in frivolous filth such as name calling and finger pointing. Who am I to judge?
As women...strike that...as individuals, we grow. I am most definitely not the same person I was when I graduated from University, and I for sure do not intend to remain the same person a decade from now. I'm mature enough to acknowledge where I have erred and urge you all to take a good look at your conduct, to see whether it tallies with your speech (your words of wisdom during girl-time)? To segregate between the two would be creating a false impression of who you truly are. I'm not all knowing or flawless, I'm human. Being human to me, calls for me to embody what I say and do what I believe to be true. In essence, do as I say and say what I do.

  3. It is nice to see that there is someone in the world who doesn't let their pride get in the way of progress. You are very brave for admitting your faults on a public forum. I pray that you continue to grow in every aspect of your life. Thank you for sharing. :-)

Your well wishes are very much appreciated, and I think there's a time and place for everything. Admitted a fault and using it to educate or enrich your audience should be welcomed. The great speakers and public figures are accustomed to doing much the same. Airing your dirty laundry? Now that, I won't stand for. Looool

Thanks for taking the time out to read hun x

    2. first of all, i need your top! love! and as for the post, i don't mind hypocrisy as much. i have accepted that it is a human condition bound to happen because we are complex. the problem comes in when we lack self awareness and thus can't work on the hypocrisy or if we are too egotistical that we refuse to reflect and change accordingly when we are called out on it. loved this post. thanks for taking the time to put up posts that build us. keep up the great work.
