While living and interning in Nigeria, one thing struck me among my peers; everyone had a side-hustle. Cousins as young as 17 had hair businesses or online Christian bookstores, not to speak of my age mates who had successful clothing labels or accessories lines aside from their professional careers. It was inspiring. It struck me that the careers/ working lives in the West are far more linear. We are so focused on a singular aim, without much time or resources being invested in our other talents. See how I didn't call it a passion?

The much anticipated second instalment of the 'Broke Girls' Guide' series is finally upon us, and this time, it is in collaboration with Bloggers' Hangout. Colour Me White

The need for greater diversity has been a hot topic in pretty much every profession/ field of late. Most recently #OscarsSoWhite became a trending topic on Twitter after there was a noticeable lack of diversity among the nominations this year. This led to a boycott of the Academy Awards by African American actors and actresses, staged by Jada Pinkett Smith and supported by many others. But this isn't E!News. I'm not here to report on the inner workings of the media industry, nor do I care to join in the pity party of those who would rather sit and sulk, than stand up for what is right; EQUALITY.

Purposefully Pink

October. Pink. Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Funny how a colour so gimmicky in childhood, could be so purposeful past youth. I attended Stylist Live last week and aside from it being epic, it was informative. The 4-panel debate was the best girl chat I've ever witnessed, and I'm a BIG fan of The Real! Nimco Ali, the FGM activist, was a member of that panel and brought to light gender inequality in medicine, which I'd shed some light on in the past, but not paid much attention to since.
