Me, YaYa & my other fave whore (not insulting, but as stated before, a term of endearment) were sick and tired of the same old surroundings and decided to take a roadtrip to Birmingham for the weekend. Plans were very much last minute, but after we rented a hotel, and found our outfits, we were pretty much set to let our hair down and go wild!!

The night out was fun and we were more than care-free. YaYa learned a valuable lesson, "Its not what you know, its WHO you know" lol... The change of scene defo did us some good, I think. Twas nice to be ourselves in a different crowd and still know we had fun :)

My last post was well received by some readers and I love our dedication on my 8-Baller, Lolli's new blog (Check it out : http://lollihearts.tumblr.com/). So much so that for over a week I've been tossed into the lions' den of a million more 'husband' conversations. Some tear-jerking and some, just straight HILARIOUS!!
Growing up in Nigeria, I was brought up with a strict moral compass and an even stricter cultural foundation so my checklist, beyond the aesthetics, is pretty streamlined enough as it is. So I was more than choking to death when my friend
**Marble-Cake skype-called me & spoke of a friend whose mother told her to "marry a white man! Cos black men are straight trifling"
BLACK MEN ARE TRIFLING!
Really? She then went on to Urban-dictionary define the meaning of 'trifling' and quote statistics on the percentage of good black men left after the homosexual, incarcerated, jobless, etc boxes were ticked...and trust me, we aren't left with much!!
I almost DIED!!
She then went on to state this awesome fact...
"Other ethnic men at this age are looking to establish themselves in the world, while black men are just looking to establish their 'name on road'" and its SO true!! What is their fascination with thus said 'road'?? Grow up!! It makes me sick to see a man with potential just throw it away to fit in with non-achieving, mum's-income scrounging, good-for-nothings!! I wanna give each one a reality SLAP on the face (one reason being cos I have a genuine, un-diagnosed anger problem and this will be an avenue of stress-relief for me...and another reason being cos each one of these dossers need one!!)...cos if life does, it will be far more painful.

YeYe says...BLEURGH!! GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!! Take driving lessons, buy yourself a vehicle and drive the hell away from that flipping status-defining road!!

Year of the husband?

Now? On to the Feature Presentation....

WOW! So, at the start of 2010, some of my friends created this mantra known as "2010 is the year of the husband" and as hilarious as it was at the time, I found it quite daunting. And as the months fly by, I find myself more and more driven to discuss the topic of boyfriends, potential husbands and soulmates. And not that I don't find such rivetting conversations interesting....oh NO! I'm a girl, what more is there to life? *sniggers*...its just that, well, isn't there more out there?
This video is just a bleurgh that I made in my spare time, call me jobless, but it is what it is lol...

But seriously, jokes apart, this issue is actually pretty MAJOR!! I mean, I wasn't actually exaggerating the amount of time we girls spend discussing guys and crap...its like a total FACT! We literally chat about that stuff as much as guys think about sex! YER! THAT major!! lol
And its scary to see girls fall into the trap of just cos you want to be with 'The One', you sacrifice so many preferences and mould this douche in your life to be that guy...that to be quite honest, is just that...A DOUCHE!!
And the saddest thing about it is when chics break up with guys and because of the undeniable connection the two felt in the relationship, fool ourselves into believing you lost 'The One' when you let them go for a reason!
Oh! And don't get me started on the endless quotes we use as reassurance of it like, "If you truly love someone, you'll let them go. If they come back to you, they were always yours." But they forget the quote carries on to say..."if they dont, they never were to begin with".
Its sad! Quite like Jayz's infamous lyric (and the title of Rihanna's breakthrough album)..."once a good girl's gone bad, she's gone forever". In my opinion, once a good guy's gone bad, he's not necessarily gone forever, but there sure as hell aint NO gurantee (pardon my POOR English with that double negative...but twas necessary, I assure you) that he will come back to YOU!

YeYe says...BLEURGH! Live for the moment and let nature take its course! A year is a year, it need not have a title...Xisses

Girl Talk...

My sis came down to Manchie this weekend to show some familial support and just continue to be my backbone...I die for her, I swear :)
But yer, we decided to have a mini catch-up sesh over a pub lunch and we went to the fab spot 'Sweet Box' for desserts...YUM!

I love food too much! SO happy that even though I've given up my mini-treats for Lent (yup...never cracked! Going strong), I can still enjoy the good life like this for dessert...YUM! I had the Fudge Sundae in the middle and cos my sis gave up choc for Lent, she opted for a Peach Melba Sundae and her bf went for a milkshake...yes, in a dessert joint...milkshake lol...don't ask!

But anyways, I've been SO wrapped up with my own ish that I'd completely overlooked everyone else's ish I guess. Its sad cos I literally love all the whores in my life and I'd just lost track of that i guess.
I love the female connection...I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd have vouched a year ago that I prefer male company cos its easier and there's less bitching, etc...but thats the fun of it! I went to an all girls' Sixth-form so that bitching ish is pretty much engraved in my vocab...
A good old chinwag is what i used to consider my daily dose of exercise...but now? I kinda trail through days not really knowing where hours fly by to...its nuts!
I took a lil pause tonight to rekindle a few lost connections with my girlies and twas quite surreal how much I've missed since my self-inflicted hiatus!!
Statistics show that women outlive men and have a lower suicidal rate...why? Some say, its living proof that God is female...Not funny but its a joke some chic cracked in my seminar today, at which point a tumbleweed rolled past. Anyways, I digress...its actually because we have that social support...that girl chat, that good old catch-up and emotional outburst that is seemingly natural but seem unnatural to the average guy(unless he's metrosexual and embraces the whole 'Bromance' movement or just straight gay...). Guys just cage it all in like a tight-knit ball bag in Spandex hotpants. Nuts...but its the truth!
And after several years of proclaiming "my balls" would never drop and I'm a self-professed tomboy...its about time I pulled up the reigns and just embraced femininity...its beautiful. Why not cry from time to time?...its liberating and there should be no shame attached to that act!

YeYe says...BLEURGH! Pick up that phone, Skype, bbm, text, Facebook....tweet even. rekindle old friendships and embrace the skin your're in. Don't let go of old friendships, they remain the foundation for new ones...Xisses

Switching it up folks!!!

Hey aaallll.... this is Yaya here, yep.. thats right YAYA, not Yeye, suprising huh??.. Yeh my thoughts exactly (LMAO). I have to say firstly HIIIIIIII, long time no bleurgh!!...
